Life transitions can be hard.

Not only is the time surrounding pregnancy and birth physically exhausting, but it can also be emotionally overwhelming. Pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period make up a season of life that is momentous and intense. The transition to parenting a new baby can be a bumpy one.

Many people experience anxiety and depression while pregnant or after giving birth. For those who have experienced a past trauma or have a history of depression or anxiety, the effects of hormonal and life changes can be even more difficult.

I am trained as a perinatal mental health provider through Perinatal Support Washington. It’s my goal to offer space for preparation, healing, and growth as parents discover their own power and ability to adapt and thrive. I provide the option for telehealth sessions and invite non-mobile babies to accompany parents to in-person sessions.

Counseling can help.

I help people cope with the struggles related to pregnancy, birth, and postpartum:

  • Prenatal/postpartum depression and anxiety

  • Traumatic birth experiences

  • Effects of past sexual trauma

  • Scary or intrusive thoughts

  • Relationship problems

  • Coping with life changes
